(hd) During the night from Thursday (27.03.) to Friday (28.03.), residents on Nordbahnstraße in Löhne were startled by a banging noise at around 01:30. It quickly became clear that a Mercedes-Benz AMG parked on the side of the road had caught fire. The fire spread and also affected the asphalt surface of the road and the vegetation on a grass verge. The fire department was eventually able to extinguish the fire. The damage to property is estimated to be at least 100,000 euros. The criminal investigation department has taken over the investigation. Witnesses who have observed anything suspicious in Nordbahnstraße are asked to contact the police by telephone (Tel.: 05221 / 888-0).
