Assault

(jd) Officers from the Herford district police authority were called to the emergency room of a hospital on Renntorstraße at around 3.50 a.m. today (15.4.). A previously unknown man had been brought to the emergency room shortly before by ambulance. There he immediately behaved aggressively and insulted various members of staff. He then went on to punch and kick four members of staff, one of whom was also bitten. All four were injured and required medical treatment. The man, a 20-year-old from Bad Salzuflen, was also verbally and physically aggressive towards the police officers who were called to the scene. A breath alcohol test carried out was clearly positive. He was taken into police custody in Herford to prevent further offenses.
