Attempted fraud

(jd) A man from Spenge received a call last Friday (05.09.) from a man unknown to him who claimed to be an employee of his bank. The man asked the man from Spenge whether he had carried out several transactions on Friday. After the spender denied this, he was asked to generate the corresponding codes using his EC card and TAN generator. The spender then ended the conversation and contacted his bank, so that the fraud attempt was abandoned. The Herford criminal investigation department has taken over the investigation and would like to point out that genuine bank employees do not ask for access data or PINs over the phone. People who have doubts about the authenticity of a call should call the bank in question using a known or self-researched telephone number.
