BMW crashes into parked vehicle

(jd) Residents of Hückerstraße heard loud noises on Saturday (31.5.) at around 8.42 a.m. and went to investigate the cause. They noticed a demolished BMW on a property, which had apparently pushed a Seat parked on the property onto a meadow. For reasons as yet unknown, the 56-year-old driver of the BMW drove onto the property and hit the Seat of a 41-year-old man from Engeran. The vehicle was dragged a few meters by the impact, causing it to come to a halt in the meadow. The BMW in turn came to rest on a tree trunk. In order to move his vehicle away from the tree trunk, the 56-year-old accelerated his car sharply so that he crashed into the Seat again. Residents then saw the driver leave his car and remove the license plates and called the police. The police officers who arrived noticed clear signs of alcohol consumption in the 56-year-old, so a breath test was carried out on the spot. This was clearly positive, so that the 56-year-old, who does not have a valid driving license, was taken to the Bünde police station to have a blood sample taken. The material damage to the vehicles amounts to around 90,000 euros.
