(jd) Between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. yesterday (25.11.), a break-in occurred in the guest house of an educational institution in Südfeldstraße. After four young people from Hüllhorst returned to their rooms, they discovered that they had been completely ransacked and the window was open. Among the items stolen from the two rooms were wallets belonging to the 15 and 16-year-olds, including cash and personal documents, as well as a set of Apple AirPods. An attentive witness told the police officers who were called that she had seen a male person in the area of the windows and gave the officers a description of the person. The AirPods were located in the course of the investigation. The officers went to the located address and met a 41-year-old man from Vlotho who matched the description given by the witnesses. The officers were then able to find some of the stolen goods - including the AirPods and a wallet - near his home address. Further investigations into this case are ongoing. The Herford criminal investigation department is therefore asking any further witnesses to contact them on 05221/8880.
