Break-in at youth center

(jd) A resident of Magdeburger Straße heard loud noises last night (16.4.) at around 2.40 am. He then went out of the house and saw a male person running out of a nearby youth center and fleeing on foot. The resident immediately called the police. On site, the officers discovered that the previously unknown suspect had opened the entrance door to the youth center and had also forced open several doors inside the building. Various cupboards were opened and apparently ransacked. It is still under investigation whether the unknown suspect managed to take any stolen goods. An immediate search of the area was unsuccessful. The Herford criminal investigation department has taken over the investigation and is asking other witnesses who can provide information about the incident or the unknown person to contact them on 05221/8880.
