(jd) A man from Herford returned to his house in Wüstener Weg on Tuesday evening (10.12.) and discovered a burglary: several cupboards and drawers had apparently been ransacked in search of stolen goods. The man immediately informed the police. The officers found signs of forced entry on the patio door at the back of the house: the unknown perpetrator or perpetrators used a tool to force the door during the course of the day and gain entry to the house. After an initial inspection by the owners, they stole several pieces of high-value jewelry. The Herford criminal investigation department has taken over the investigation and is asking witnesses who observed anything suspicious between 8.30 and 18.00 yesterday to call 05221/8880.
