(jd) Yesterday (25.2.), unknown persons broke into a two-family house on Uhlandstraße. At around 7.30 p.m., one of the residents returned to the house after being away for just two and a half hours and noticed the break-in. According to initial investigations, the as yet unknown suspects forced a patio door and initially searched the first floor apartment for stolen goods. The apartment on the upper floor was also searched and various cupboards and drawers were opened. After an initial search, the strangers took gold coins. Other witnesses told the police officers who arrived that three people had been at the property conspicuously often over the past few days. They were a woman around 30 years old and two men around 20 years old. Whether and to what extent these people are connected to the burglary is the subject of the investigation. Therefore, any further witnesses who can provide information on the facts of the case or the persons named are asked to contact the Herford criminal investigation department on 05221/8880.
