(jd) On Monday (16.12.), a bus driver reported a missing bus stop sign: this was originally on Brandheidestraße and was no longer there - instead, the witness noticed signs of an accident. A previously unknown driver was driving on Brandheidestraße in the direction of Werler Straße and then veered off the road to the left and drove into an adjacent field. In doing so, he drove over the bus stop sign. According to initial investigations, it was probably not possible to simply drive out of the field; the vehicle involved in the accident was most likely pulled out of the field by another vehicle. According to the traces found, the vehicle involved in the accident could have been a VW. The sign that the unknown driver damaged in the accident was stolen from the scene. The traffic commissioner's office has taken over the investigation and is asking any witnesses who can provide information about the incident to contact them on 05221/8880.
