(hd) On Wednesday (25.12.2024), a driver was driving his car along Sprickbergweg in Vlotho towards Herforder Straße at around 9:20 pm. For as yet unexplained reasons, the vehicle veered off the road to the left and collided with a wooden pole. This was snapped off by the force of the impact. The front of the car was severely damaged. Other road users became aware of the incident. They stopped at the scene of the accident and inquired about the well-being of the person involved in the accident. He then put his vehicle back into operation and quickly drove off in the direction of Herforder Straße. The fleeing vehicle is a dark-colored station wagon, presumably an Opel. The vehicle has considerable front-end damage as a result of the accident. The driver is described as male, approx. 30 - 40 years old, 180 - 190 cm tall and dark-haired. The Herford police traffic commissioner's office is now investigating on suspicion of unauthorized removal from the scene of the accident. Any other possible witnesses to the accident are asked to contact the police on 05221 / 888-0.
