(jd) A 57-year-old man from Melle filed a complaint with the police on Monday afternoon (April 7) because his BMW had been stolen. He had parked the vehicle on a trailer on Röntgenstraße and secured the trailer with a lock. Yesterday he discovered that the car and trailer had been stolen. According to initial investigations, three people parked their car on the BMW trailer on Sunday evening and then turned their car around on the premises of a nearby petrol station so that they could couple their car to the trailer. They then drove off in an unknown direction. An analysis of the video footage from the petrol station's surveillance cameras is still ongoing, as is the investigation at the owner's address of the fleeing car. Further witnesses who can provide information about the incident, which took place on Sunday evening at around 6.15 p.m., are asked to call 05221/8880.
