On Saturday afternoon (27.7.), police officers were called to a traffic accident on Oeynhausener Straße in Löhne. When the officers arrived, there was a damaged KIA soul and VW Passat at the junction with Industriestraße and Weidengrund. According to initial investigations, a 78-year-old man from Bad Oeynhausen was driving the KIA on Oeynhausener Straße and intended to turn left into Industriestraße at the traffic lights there. A 33-year-old woman from Löhne was coming in the opposite direction in her VW Passat. Both vehicles collided at the junction, causing minor injuries to both drivers. In addition to another occupant, there were two children aged 5 in the VW Passat, who were taken to hospital for medical examination as a precaution. Both vehicles were towed away from the scene of the accident. The damage to property is estimated at around 10,000 euros.
