(jd) A 12-year-old from Bielefeld, accompanied by a 13-year-old, was riding his bike on a cycle path on Salzuflener Straße in the direction of Bäderstraße at 5.20 p.m. on Sunday (June 1). Another cyclist came towards them in the middle of the cycle path. In order to avoid a collision with the stranger, the 12-year-old swerved and lost control of his bike. He fell onto the road and sustained minor injuries. While the unknown cyclist did not fulfill his duties as a party to the accident and continued his journey, a first aider looked after the 12-year-old. To investigate the circumstances of the accident, Herford police are asking further witnesses or the cyclist involved in the accident to contact them on 05221/8880.
