Cyclist injured in accident

(jd) A traffic accident occurred on Bruchstraße on Thursday evening (15.5.). A previously unknown driver was driving a silver VW on Bruchstraße at 8.17 pm. At the same time, a 9-year-old boy from Bünde was also riding his bicycle there. The unknown driver hit the cyclist with his car. The 9-year-old fell due to the force of the impact and was injured. An ambulance was called and the boy was taken to a nearby hospital. The as yet unknown VW driver continued his journey without fulfilling his duties. He is about 45 to 50 years old and has a beard and gray hair tied back in a braid. The Herford police traffic commissioner's office has taken over the investigation and is asking the VW driver involved in the accident or other witnesses to contact them on 05221/8880.
