Drunk driving

(jd) As part of a patrol, officers from the Herford district police department noticed an Opel on Friday (10.1.) at 9.35 am. The vehicle was driving on Bünder Straße in the direction of Herford and the driver obviously had difficulty keeping in his lane and drove into the oncoming lane several times. The officers then stopped the Opel. They immediately smelled alcohol from the driver, a 52-year-old from Enger. A breath alcohol test carried out on the spot showed a clearly positive result. The man, who is not in possession of a valid driving license, was taken to hospital to have a blood sample taken. He was banned from driving vehicles requiring a license. Following the police measures, he was released on the spot.
