(jd) A woman from Rödinghausen reported a scam this week: A few days ago, she received a call from an alleged employee of her bank. He told her that she needed to install a new app to carry out her banking transactions. She was then sent a corresponding link and filled in the relevant data under telephone instructions. The woman then discovered that various transactions had been made on her account and that a five-figure sum had been debited. The Herford criminal investigation department has taken over the investigation and would like to draw attention to the scam involving fake bank employees:
- Real bank employees never ask for PINs, TANs, passwords or individual cash holdings
- If you have the slightest doubt, end the call or call your bank at a number you know. or call your bank on a number you know - real bank employees bank employees have no problem with such a procedure
