Hit and run

(jd) A traffic accident occurred at the junction of Mindener Straße and Magdeburger Straße yesterday (7.8.) at 9.15 pm. A 54-year-old woman from Herford was driving her Toyota on Magdeburger Straße and intended to turn off towards the city center at the junction with Mindener Straße. At the same time, an unknown female driver was driving out of town on Mindener Straße. She turned across the Toyota driver's lane into Magdeburger Straße and crashed her Mercedes into the Toyota, which was waiting at the stop line. The as yet unknown woman, who is around 20 to 30 years old, continued her journey without fulfilling her obligations as a party to the accident. To clarify the exact facts of the case, the Herford police traffic commissioner's office is asking the driver of the white Mercedes with Herford registration involved in the accident or possible witnesses to contact them on 05221/8880.
