(um) The traffic commissioner's office is currently investigating a particular case of a hit-and-run that occurred on Wednesday (March 19) at 2:15 p.m. on Salzufler Straße. A black BMW X5 was parked in the parking lot of a large supermarket. A boy on an e-scooter then observed how a vehicle parking damaged the BMW. The police estimate that the damage amounted to around 3000 euros. The boy then spoke to the driver of the BMW, who later reported the hit-and-run to the police. The injured party did not make a note of the witness's personal details at the scene. The traffic commissioner's office is therefore asking the boy with the e-scooter to contact the police. The investigation into the case is ongoing. Other witnesses to the accident are also asked to come forward. Information about the crime should be sent to the traffic commissioner's office in Herford on 05221-8880.
