(jd) Last week, the employee of a pharmacy filed a criminal complaint after a stranger picked up a high-priced medication that had previously been ordered by telephone. After the man had already left the store with the medicine, it became apparent that it was a forged prescription. Yesterday (17.09.), another high-priced medicine with a value in the mid four-digit range was ordered by telephone. A stranger then came to the pharmacy in Engerstraße to pick up the medicine using a prescription. As the pharmacy employee recognized the prescription as a forgery, the police were informed. The officers managed to catch the man in the pharmacy. He is a 28-year-old man from Wesel. He was taken to the Herford police station for further police action. According to initial investigations, the man matches the personal descriptions of two other incidents involving forged prescriptions: One last week in the aforementioned pharmacy, the other also last week in Hiddenhausen. Whether this is actually the 28-year-old is the subject of further investigations, which have been taken over by the Herford criminal investigation department.
