(hd) At around 09:00 on Monday morning (25.08.2025), the employee of an energy supply company discovered that eight cable drums had been stolen from a construction site on Lübbecker Straße in Herford / Eickum. There were several hundred meters of power cable on the drums. The construction site was completely fenced off. The unknown perpetrator or perpetrators opened the fence elements in order to remove the stolen goods. The period of the crime can be narrowed down. It lies between Thursday (21.08.2025) and the time of discovery. The value of the stolen goods is estimated to be at least 3200 euros. The criminal investigation department has taken over the investigation. Possible witnesses who have observed anything suspicious in the vicinity of the construction site are asked to call 05221 / 888-0.
