(jd) On Monday (19.5.) at around 4 p.m., a man from Hüllhorst noticed that a pasture fence surrounding his property on Carl-Severing-Straße was massively damaged. There were also various pieces of debris in the field around the fence. The man from Hüllhorst called the police. The officers not only found vehicle parts around the fence, but also seized a license plate. The Herford police traffic commissioner's office has taken over the investigation.
According to initial investigations at the owner's address of the vehicle, a 21-year-old man from Bünde was driving his Mercedes on Carl-Severing-Straße when he lost control of his vehicle. As a result, he veered off the road to the right and broke through the fence before the Mercedes came to a halt on an embankment. The 21-year-old maneuvered the Mercedes out of the pasture and then drove off in the direction of Bielefelder Straße. He did not fulfill his duties as the person responsible for the accident. As the man does not have a valid driver's license, he will have to answer for driving without a license in addition to driving away from the scene of the accident. The damage to property amounts to around 5,500 euros.
