(jd) The Herford district police authority carried out priority checks on Tuesday: A checkpoint was set up in Herford on the bypass road in the area of Füllenbruchstraße and another checkpoint in Löhne on Lübbecker Straße at the level of the street Am Drosselhain. Both checkpoints were manned by officers from the police traffic service and customs (Bielefeld main customs office). Around 90 vehicles of all categories were stopped during the control period - a total of 50 violations were detected. These included violations of the seatbelt requirement and load safety. In this context, a truck was stopped that was overloaded by more than 30 percent. Violations of the Working Hours Act and cell phone violations were also recorded.
