(sb/um) Over the course of the weekend, previously unknown perpetrators broke into a detached house in Elverdisser Straße. The residents left the house at around 5 p.m. on Saturday (17.08.) when everything was still locked. At around 11:20 pm, the residents returned to the house and discovered the crime. The method of the crime remains unclear. There was a bird aviary in a room that the perpetrators had visited. The window to the room had been left ajar by the perpetrators. The thieves also left the previously locked cellar door ajar. The burglars also opened a chest in the living room. According to the initial findings of the owners, nothing was taken. In connection with the crime, the police are asking for witnesses from the public. Information is requested from the Herford Criminal Investigation Department on 05221-8880.
