Yesterday, 09.09.2024, around 14:00, the police were called to the Marktkauf store in Bünde. The reason was a fleeing male person who was being pursued on foot by a store detective and the store manager. This person had been observed beforehand trying to steal clothing items from the store together with another female person. After being approached by the store detective in the checkout area of the store, the man dropped the bag containing the stolen goods and struck the man with his fist. He was only able to avoid being hit by quickly dodging. While his Uzbek companion was detained in the supermarket, the 35-year-old ran off in the direction of Bismarkstraße. The arriving police officers found the perpetrator there and arrested him without resistance. After he had initially given false personal details, it turned out after the identification procedure that there was a European arrest warrant for various similar offenses against the man from Serbia, who was known to the police. Both suspects were then taken to police custody in Herford, where the criminal investigation department took over further investigations. During the search of the accused 45-year-old woman, an axe, a knife and a screwdriver were found and provisionally seized.
