Robbery and theft

(jd) Yesterday (21.5.) at 11.45 a.m., the employee of a store in Eschstraße noticed a man aged around 20 to 30 picking various cosmetic products from the shelves. He then opened his red rucksack in the checkout area and stowed various high-priced perfume bottles in it without having paid for them beforehand. When the employee tried to prevent the theft, the man, who was about 165 cm tall, attacked the woman with an irritant. Another customer, who noticed the situation, tried to stand in the way of the stranger before leaving the store. He was also attacked with the irritant. The stranger fled on foot in an unknown direction with around 600 euros worth of perfume. An immediate search of the area was unsuccessful. Witnesses who can provide information about the man are asked to call 05221/8880. He has blond hair and was wearing a cap, white clothing and sneakers at the time of the crime.
