Traffic accident

(jd) A 14-year-old cyclist was seriously injured in a traffic accident on Hansastrasse yesterday (20.5.). The teenager was riding his bike on the footpath/cycle path coming from Bismarckstraße in the direction of Werrestraße at 7.50 pm. At the same time, a 54-year-old man from Herford was also driving his Opel on Hansastrasse in the direction of Werrestrasse. The 14-year-old crossed from the footpath/cycle path onto the road, where he collided with the Opel. Due to the force of the impact, the Hiddenhauser was thrown onto the road and was seriously injured. An ambulance was called to take him to a nearby hospital. Hansastrasse remained closed for the duration of the accident investigation, for which a traffic accident investigation team was called in. The material damage is in the four-digit range.
