Traffic accident

(jd) Attentive witnesses heard a loud bang in Ziegelstraße at around 10.44 a.m. on Sunday (24.11.). The witnesses then saw a Seat with Herford registration, which had reversed in front of a parked Opel and had apparently damaged it. The Opel belongs to a 51-year-old man from Herford and had clear scratch marks on the front bumper. The previously unknown driver of the Seat, described as a 70-year-old man with gray hair, continued his journey without fulfilling his duties as a party to the accident. The witnesses informed the police and gave the officers the license plate number of the Seat. During a search of the area, the officers found the vehicle described, which had fresh scratches on the rear bumper. The owner of the car is a 75-year-old woman from Herford. The investigation into who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident has been taken over by the Herford police traffic department and is still ongoing. The property damage is around 1,500 euros.
