A traffic accident occurred on Hansastraße in Herford on Monday afternoon (29.7.) in which a 64-year-old wheelchair user was slightly injured. At the time of the accident at around 3.30 pm, a 77-year-old Chevrolet driver was driving on Werrestraße and intended to turn right at the traffic lights onto Hansastraße in the direction of Goebenstraße.
When he turned right at the green light, he collided with the wheelchair user. She was on the pedestrian crossing coming from the Ärztehaus in the direction of the employment office and also wanted to cross Hansastrasse when the light turned green. The collision caused the 64-year-old from Herford to be thrown out of her wheelchair and onto the ground. She sustained injuries to her upper body and was taken to hospital in Herford by ambulance. The Chevrolet driver was uninjured. There was minor material damage to both vehicles.
