Traffic accident with material damage

(jd) An 18-year-old man from Herford was driving his BMW on Kastanienallee towards Salzuflener Straße yesterday (14.1.) at around 4.15 pm. At the junction with Buchsbaumweg, he stopped his vehicle for traffic reasons. To allow oncoming traffic to pass, however, he then reversed his car a little. According to a 66-year-old man from Herford, the 18-year-old crashed into his Toyota. However, the 18-year-old told the police officers who arrived that the 66-year-old had hit his vehicle after it had already stopped. However, the 18-year-old and his 26-year-old passenger made contradictory statements about the course of the accident. The Herford police traffic commissioner's office has taken over the investigation. The material damage to both vehicles amounts to around 3,000 euros.
