Traffic accident with material damage

(jd) A 35-year-old woman from Hüllhorst parked her BMW on Hochstraße on Monday morning (2.6.). When the woman returned to her vehicle at around 1.45 p.m., she noticed massive damage. She found a note on her windshield on which the perpetrator had left his contact details. The police officers called contacted the man via the telephone number provided and later found him at his home address in Herford. The officers then smelled the odor of alcohol. The 61-year-old was taken to the Herford police station, where a breath alcohol test was clearly positive. Blood samples were taken and the officers confiscated the driver's license, at the same time prohibiting him from driving vehicles requiring a license. The damage to property amounts to around 3,000 euros.
