Traffic accident with pedelec

An accident involving a pedelec occurred in Hiddenhausen on the night of Saturday, 08/09/2024, to Sunday, 09/09/2024. The 43-year-old rider from Löhne was driving downhill on Hans-Böckler Straße towards Alter Postweg at around 10.05 pm. When turning left, he apparently veered off the road to the right, hit a garden wall and fell. He sustained a head injury (laceration). The man was taken by ambulance to Herford Hospital, where he remained for treatment of his injury and further observation. A voluntary breath test revealed that the man was probably clearly under the influence of alcohol. The injured man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
