Traffic accident with personal injury

In Bünde, police officers were called to a traffic accident on Minden-Weseler Weg at around 2.20 p.m. on Monday afternoon (2 September). According to those involved in the accident, a 16-year-old from Rödinghausen was driving her scooter with an 18-year-old pillion rider from Bünde on Minden-Weseler Weg in the direction of Bünde. At the junction with Wichernstraße, the 16-year-old intended to turn left into Wichernstraße. To do so, she activated the blinker and reduced speed. The planned turn was overlooked by a 26-year-old Mercedes driver from Hüllhorst driving behind her. Due to the low speed of the scooter driver, the man from Hüllhorst tried to overtake her with his vehicle. This resulted in a collision between the two vehicles, causing the 16-year-old and the pillion passenger to fall to the ground. They sustained minor injuries (abrasions) and sought medical treatment on their own. The material damage to the Mercedes and the Taizhou scooter is estimated at around 3,000 euros.
