(hd) On Friday (23.05.2025) in the early hours of the morning (03:00), police officers carried out a traffic stop on Hermannstraße in Herford. A Citroen car was stopped and checked. It was discovered that the vehicle was fitted with license plates that had actually been issued for a Mercedes. On closer inspection, it was also found that the license plates had counterfeit seals. The license plates were seized and further operation of the vehicle was prohibited. The 23-year-old driver is now facing criminal proceedings on suspicion of forgery, among other things.
