On Wednesday, 24.07.2024, 17:44, three people entered the Markant petrol station on Herforder Straße in Löhne. They entered the salesroom while another person waited unnoticed in a car that was also on the premises. In the salesroom, a male perpetrator claimed to want to buy a bottle of brandy and handed over a EUR 100 bill to the sales clerk for payment. When the till was opened to hand over the remaining money, the customer put the employee under considerable pressure. He began to argue and tried to reach into the till. Only later did the clerk realize that this was a diversionary maneuver. At this moment, a female companion reached into a shelf and stole four Elfbar vapes worth around 50 euros. In addition, a third person, a man aged around 50, tried to get behind the counter, but the witness was able to stop him. As he was repeatedly distracted, the female offender continued to "help herself" and made some sweets disappear in her clothes. It was only after another customer entered the petrol station that all the perpetrators disappeared from the premises together. The course of the crime could be determined from video recordings from the salesroom. Information on the crime is requested from the criminal investigation department in Herford on 05221-8880.
