Two people injured in accident

(jd) A traffic accident occurred yesterday (March 2) at 10.05 p.m. in which two people were injured. A 53-year-old woman from Herford was driving her Toyota on Niederstraße coming from Engerstraße. At the Wittekindstraße / Auf der Freiheit junction, she intended to drive straight on in the direction of Auf der Freiheit. At the same time, an 18-year-old Opel driver from Lage was driving on Wittekindstraße in the direction of Bahnhofstraße and intended to continue straight ahead. An accident occurred at the junction. The 53-year-old woman and the 18-year-old man were injured by the force of the impact and were both taken to nearby hospitals by ambulance. The Herford police traffic commissioner's office has taken over the investigation into the circumstances of the accident and is asking possible witnesses to contact them on 05221/8880. Property damage of around 33,000 euros was caused.
