Unknown persons attack cigarette vending machines

(jd) An attentive witness noticed a demolished cigarette vending machine on Monday (30.9.) and informed the police. The police officers who arrived found that the vending machine on Wallrücker Bahndamm had been violently attacked by the unknown suspect(s) using a tool. This caused a hole in the outer wall of the vending machine. The extent to which the strangers succeeded in stealing money or cigarettes is still under investigation. The property damage is in the three-digit range. The criminal investigation department is asking witnesses who saw anything conspicuous in the Wallrücker Bahndamm area between Sunday evening and Monday, 5 p.m. to contact them on 05221/8880.
