(jd) The employee of a construction company discovered a theft from a building site on Weserstraße at 7.00 a.m. on Wednesday (31.7.). Previously unknown perpetrators forcibly opened a container and stole various pieces of cable from inside. The lock with which the container was secured could no longer be found on site. There was also a hole cut in a nearby fence surrounding the construction site. The total damage to property amounted to around 700 euros. At around 5 p.m. the previous evening, both the fence and the container were still intact.
Only a few hours later, a company owner from Bünde informed the police. There had been a theft from a company premises at around 11.30 am. Previously unknown perpetrators stole cable remnants from a skip located on the premises on Boschstraße. They took around 200 to 300 kilograms of cable, which is still worth around 300 euros. The analysis of the video footage from the company's surveillance cameras is still ongoing.
The Herford criminal investigation department has taken over the investigation and is asking witnesses in both cases who can provide information about the unknown perpetrators to call 05221/8880 or any police station.
