(um) Once again this year, the Herford police are increasing their presence in the Wittekindskreis district for the celebrations on Ascension Day (Father's Day). At the same time, the police are appealing to the predominantly young participants to celebrate peacefully. The majority of the young people out and about with handcarts on Ascension Day succeed in doing so. Nevertheless, some of them do not consume the right amount of alcohol. Less is more here and saves unpleasant consequences. As in previous years, the police see three focal points in the operational concept. These are the site of the former State Garden Show at the AquaMagica in Löhne, the cycle and footpath along the Werre between Löhne and Bad Oeynhausen, and the moorland road around the Hücker Moor in Spenge. As in previous years, the town and police have made preparations and will be present at these locations. In addition, there will even be teams from the youth welfare offices to monitor the activities surrounding the Father's Day gift from a youth protection perspective. There will be a ban on alcohol on the Aqua Magica site and admission will be controlled. The officers deployed will specifically seek communication with the young people and give them tips for a relaxed holiday. However, unruly troublemakers will experience consistent intervention by the officers, which will benefit the safety of the general public. With this in mind, the Herford police wish everyone a happy and peaceful public holiday.
