VW damaged when turning off

(jd) A traffic accident occurred on Sophienstraße at 7.32 a.m. yesterday (19.3.). A 49-year-old man from Herford was driving his VW on Sophienstraße in the direction of Goebenstraße and intended to turn left at the junction there. He initially stopped at the junction due to traffic. At the same time, a truck was driving in the opposite direction on Sophienstraße and turned right into Goebenstraße. The semi-trailer of his truck hit the driver's VW, causing damage of around 3,000 euros. Attentive witnesses were able to give the police officers called to the scene the license plate number of the truck. The officers met a 49-year-old man from Lemgo at the owner's address and found the truck described. The man's driver's license was confiscated. He now has to answer for hit-and-run.
